INSTRUCTOR:

Orlando de Matos is a Mechanical Engineer with 40 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industry, 30 years of these in the Middle East with professional interests focus on Corrosion Management, Risk based Inspection, Remnant Life assessments,   troubleshooting of corrosion related issues and implementation of corrective actions in Pressure Equipment and Pipelines. In addition of that he presents papers related with Corrosion, Inspection, Asset Integrity and Process Safety Management in International Conferences.  

He was seconded by PARTEX in ADNOC GAS PROCESSING serving as Team Leader, Inspection.

During his assignment he initiated the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) project in Bab and Buhasa in 1998 and since 2003 in Habshan and Habshan 5 &  Habshan Sulphur Granulation Plants (HSGP).

Represented ADNOC GAS PROCESSING in the visits to contractors during heavy equipment  manufacturing for Habshan 3, HGCE and Habshan 5 projects and participated in their commissioning.

In 2008 obtained the National Board accreditation and authorization for pressure equipment

repairs/alterations by ADNOC GAS PROCESSIG Maintenance workshop and Inspection, as the first operating company in the Middle East, able to repair and use the National Board stamp in their own repaired/altered equipment.

For Habshan and Bab Plants was the focal point for the introduction and implementation of MERIDIUM, Inspection Data Management System for managing the API RBI and API for PRD’s for all assets.

Developed in house training and certification in ASNT Level II (UT,RT,MT,PT) for UAE nationals and was Skill Pool Expert, in the discipline of Corrosion and Inspection for frameworks development the fresh UAE Nationals graduates through, Competency Assurance Management Systems
